Around 60 km from the city the area registered as Si Satchanalai Historical Park cover 3 sub districts : Tambon Sarajit, Tambon Nong Or, and Tambon Tha Chai, of Si Satchanalai district, SoKhothai province. The total area of this park is about 45.14 square kilometers. There are 215 historic building in this area.
The visitor can go to Si Satchanalai bus public bus from the city on highway. Si Satchanalai Historical Park open to visitors daily from 8:30 to 17:00. Admission is 10 baht for Thai is 40 baht for foreign tourist, Tel. 055 679 211 if you need guide.

RELIGIOUS, CULTURAL, AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT.
While known as CHALIENG, this old town was one of the cultural centers in the YOM River valley. When it came under the rule of Sukhothai, and was calls Si Satchanalai instead, it remains the town of high status. It was the residence of the crown prince. Most of King of Sukhothai had been rules of Si Sasatchanalai before ascending to the royal throne in Sukhothai. Religious and cultural evidences belong to Brahmanism and Mahayana Buddhism have been found around the area support the theory that S Satchanalai had diverse religious practice since early times. Si Satchanalai are consider highly artistic achievements of the ancient Thai people.

One of the famous technology is ceramic industry was well know since the time when it was Chalieng. During Sukhothai period , glazed ceramic “SUNGKALOK WARE” were exported to South East Asia , as well as iron working and bronze casting.

WAT CHANG LOM : The most important historical building at this temple is the main Chedi of Sri Langan style. There are 39 elephants around the square base. Chang mean elephant. Some scholars believe that this was the temple mention in stone inscription No. 1 of Ramkhamhaeng Stele

WAT NANG PRAYA: Important historic structure is vihara made of laterite blocks. The exterior of the vihara was decorate with highly elborate srucco, in the art of the early Ayutthaya period.
WAT PRA SRIRATANAMAHATHAT: The large historical temple complex , decorated stucco of Bayon art style of the ancient KHMER was found of the main entrance of the temple and other incidences indicated that WAT PRA SRIRATANAMAHATHAT was founded before Sukhothai period. Estimate the first constructed during the time around 1237.
