THE SURIN ISLANDS, DIVING SOUTH OF THAILAND

Mu Ko Surin Marine National Park, South of Thailand (Ko = Island)
Most famous driving area in Andaman Sea at the South of Thailand. Main Spot are 6 major islands from 55. Km from mainland. About 100 km to the south is Mu Ko Similan National Park.
Mu Ko Surin Marine National Park including Ko Surin Nuea, Ko Surin Tai, Ko Ri(Stock), Ko Khai (Torinla), Ko Klang (Pajumba), , and Ko Chi and Hin Kong (Richelieu Rock). Currently, Surin Natinal Park, Surin Islands National Park area has provided a permanent residence on South Surin Island.
Around these islands, you can see different type of coral reef ecosystem, perfect beauty, perfect for diving and snorkeling in shallow water. Coral, marine flowers, waving a paddle-like leaves, red, bright orange are waiting for you. On the island is also covered with forest green, bushy plants and en joy white sandy quite beaches. This is a good idea for relaxing, swimming, sunbathing.
Who would believe! at bay Suthep, Ko Surin. You can use snorkel to see the Shallow Water Coral Reefs.
Richelieu Rock, a rock in the middle of the sea and located about 18 km east of the islands, is commonly referred to one as one of the ten best dive spots in the world. This rock is a home of several largest marine life species in Thailand. Seeing of whale shark, manta ray and sharks are very common to find.
You may plan to travel to the Surin Islands early because the site is only safe from November to May. The park is closed in the other months. The mainland office of the park is in Ngan Yong, just north of Khura Buri. Dive operators in Khao Lak offer live-aboard diving trips and day trips via speedboat.
